Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
Cannoli Dashboard shows your calendar, weather, tasks and media on the devices in your home, and includes an optional voice assistant. To do that across several devices, it needs a Google account and keeps your data on our servers. This policy explains what we store, where your data goes, and how to delete it.
What we store on our servers
- Your account: your Google account ID, name and email address, and a sign-in session that lasts up to 30 days.
- Your dashboards: their names and settings, including the location you enter for weather.
- Your tasks and reminders: tasks, alarms, timers, schedules and workflows, and which device each reminder runs on.
- Your devices: their names and settings, when they were last online, what they are currently playing, and recent commands sent to them.
- Your Google Calendar connection: the access and refresh tokens that let a dashboard read the calendars you choose. We request read-only access. Calendar events pass through our server on their way to your devices and are not stored there.
- Your assistant: its instructions, the profile you enter (such as home and work addresses and notes), your model choices, the notes it keeps from your conversations, and short summaries of what each conversation was about, so every device can pick up where another left off.
- Your API keys: keys you add for services such as OpenAI or Anthropic. They are encrypted before being stored. Our admin pages never show them again; they are sent only to devices on your account, which hold them in memory.
What stays on your devices
Full conversation transcripts are kept in the browser of the device where they happened. Each device also keeps a copy of your assistant's notes and conversation summaries and of your dashboard, so it can keep working during an internet outage. Wake word detection runs on the device itself, so nothing you say is sent anywhere until the wake word is heard.
Who else receives your data
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Your data reaches the following services only to provide the features you use:
- Cloudflare hosts Cannoli Dashboard and stores the data described above.
- Google provides sign-in, Google Calendar, weather forecasts, YouTube search and playback, and travel times. Weather requests include the location of your device or the location you entered.
- AI and speech providers you choose (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure Speech, Picovoice). When you use the assistant, your device connects to them directly with your own API key and sends what they need to respond: what you said or typed, your instructions and profile, and your assistant's notes. After a conversation ends, your device also sends it to one of these providers to sum it up and update the notes. This can include calendar events and tasks when you ask about them. Their handling of that data is governed by your agreement with them.
- Other services your device may contact: the US National Weather Service and OpenWeatherMap for weather, Apple Music if you sign in, Wikipedia when the assistant looks something up, and a third-party photo feed of Bing images for the slideshow.
Google user data
Cannoli Dashboard's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google Calendar data only to display it on your devices and to answer your own questions through the assistant. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train AI models. People do not read it unless you ask us to help with a problem, or the law requires it.
Security
All connections use HTTPS. Sign-in sessions and device tokens are stored only as hashes. API keys are encrypted with a key held separately from the data.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data until you delete it. In the admin pages you can delete individual memories, dashboards and devices, disconnect a calendar, and remove API keys. To delete everything, open the account menu in the admin pages and choose Delete account. This removes your dashboards, devices, assistant data and sessions right away, and returns your devices to the pairing device. A device that left your account erases what it stored in its browser the next time it connects; one that stays offline keeps that copy until then. Copies in our hosting provider's backups may take up to 30 days to disappear. A device that is never added to an account is removed after about a day. You can also revoke our access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account settings.
Children
Cannoli Dashboard is not directed at children under 13, and an account holder is responsible for how household members use it.
Changes and contact
We will update this page if this policy changes, and change the date above. For questions, or to ask about your data, email <zhouer [at] gmail [dot] com>.
Terms of Service
Last updated: October 30, 2026
By using Cannoli Dashboard, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Your account: You need a Google account to use Cannoli Dashboard. You are responsible for what happens on your account, including the devices you add and how people in your home use them. Remove a device from your account if it leaves your control.
Your content: Your settings, tasks, memories and other content remain yours. You allow us to store and process them only to run the service for you.
Your API keys and other services: Some features use your own accounts with third parties such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure, Google or Apple. You are responsible for following their terms and for any charges they make. Keep an eye on your usage with those providers, because the assistant can run without anyone at the device, for example from a schedule.
The assistant: The assistant uses AI and can be wrong. Check anything important yourself, and do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions.
Alarms and reminders: Alarms, timers and schedules can fail or fire late, for example when a browser closes, a device loses power, or the internet goes down. During an outage, more than one device may ring. Do not rely on them for anything where a missed alert could cause harm.
Acceptable use: Do not use the service to break the law, to access other people's data or accounts, or to interfere with the service. We may suspend or end access for misuse.
Changes to the service: Cannoli Dashboard is a small independent project. We may change or stop features, or the service itself, and will try to give notice of major changes. You can delete your account at any time.
Disclaimer: The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Information such as weather and calendar data comes from third parties, and we do not guarantee that it is accurate or complete.
Limitation of liability: To the extent the law allows, Cannoli Dashboard is not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service, including charges from third-party providers.
We may update these terms. If we do, we will change the date above, and continuing to use the service means you accept the new terms.
